Man and woman arrested after ‘sudden’ death of wealthy homeowner on ‘millionaire’s row’

A homeowner is believed to have been murdered at his property in one of the UK’s richest areas.

The victim, who was in his 40s, it thought to have been killed in the millionaire neighbourhood of Canford Cliffs, in Poole, Dorset, on Saturday night.

A 42-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The woman, who is local to the area, and the man, from Wimbledon, south west London, were both known to the victim.

Police have cordoned off the scene on Beesborough Road.

The victim’s death has been described as ‘unexplained’.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “We were called at 11.48pm on Saturday 13 August 2022 by the ambulance service to reports of the sudden death of a man at an address in Beesborough Road in the Canford Cliffs area of Poole.

“Officers attended and discovered the body of a man aged in his 40s. His family has been informed and the coroner notified.

“At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are underway into the circumstances surrounding the death.

“A cordon is in place at the address and crime scene investigations, along with house-to-house enquiries are being carried out.

“A 42-year-old local woman and a 43-year-old man from Wimbledon in London have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both were known to the victim.”
